- significant horse jumping competition in the Czech Republic

- nationwide parachute competition in accuracy discipline to land on the swimming pool
- the event takes place every year at the turn of July and August

August 21st Strakonice run through the town
- massed start (near the Bavor hotel) of representatives of all age categories (pupils, colts, juniors, women, men, veterans), the track measures 5,5 km
- held every year on this day

August 26th – 29th International Bagpipe Festival – www.dudackyfestival.cz
- since 1967 Strakonice has been the host of a renowned bagpipe festival which is attended by many participants from all over the world
- bagpipe playing can be heard in the town for four days and nights on end and the visit of this festival is an experience for thousands of visitors
from many countries
- held every second year in August

- humanitarian event for the support of the fight against cancer

- an Autumn Fair, dedicated to St. Wenceslas, the Patron Saint of Bohemia. Good food and drink, merry-making, street theatre, concerts and
other generous cultural activities

- nationwide parachute competition in accuracy discipline
- the event is held annually during Vaclav’s fair

October 9th Cross-country Run around Kuřidlo - F. Kovář memorial race
- annual cross-country race – cross country ski competition for all age categories
- trial length 500 m – 7 km
- the competition takes place annually every second Saturday in October

November 28th Festive opening of Advent Season
- culture programme, announcement of art competition winners, lighting of the first Advent candle by the town’s Mayor

December 4th – 5th Castle Advent market under the Rumpál Tower
- fair, theatrical performances, Christmas exhibitions, Saint Nicholas’ distribution of presents, live Christmas crib, folklore and singing performances
- held every year the first weekend in December
